Questions guests often ask
What to expect
What is the service like?
Everything about our services centers on the Bible. The preaching is expository, explaining the Bible passage by passage, and we worship and pray together as a church family. The morning service is our main gathering of the week.
What about my children?
We are a family-integrated church, which means parents and children worship together in the service. Children of all ages are welcome, and you will see plenty of young families with little kids. We view the sounds of children as a sign of life rather than a negative. If your little one gets restless, feel free to step out whenever you need to, we have a nursery ready to assist.
What should I wear?
You will see some variety in the clothing at our church as we don't have a dress code. We believe that dress is important as it is a reflection of the heart, and that ministering to the hearts of people is our mission. Therefore we encourage people to wear what is honoring to God, without being harsh, critical or fixated on external things.
How long are the services?
The Teaching Hour starts at 9:30 AM and the Morning Service at 10:30 AM. Each time of preaching generally runs between 50 and 80 minutes.
Where do I park? What about winter?
There is lots of parking at our building, and our deacons keep access to the front door clear.
I'm new to Alaska with the military. Can you help?
Yes! Many of our members serve at Eielson and Fort Wainwright or have in the past. Visit our Military page or contact us, and we will help you get connected.
What Bible do you use?
The King James Version is the official English translation used by our church. We encourage bringing your Bible, but we also have Bibles at the church and would love to give you one!
