Pastor Phil McBroom and Mrs. McBroom

Meet The Pastor

Pastor Phil McBroom grew up in the North Pole area and was called to preach at sixteen. After years of local ministry and service as an Active Duty Army Chaplain in the United States, Afghanistan, and Korea, the Lord brought him and his family home in 2015 to plant True North Baptist Church.

He still serves as an Army Reserve Chaplain at Fort Wainwright, and his heart is to see souls saved and believers equipped for the work of the ministry.

Some of us are lifelong residents and some of us are transplants, but all of us are Alaskans at heart. If you desire to hear God's Word and grow in Him, we'd love to meet you.

Finding a biblical church is one of the most important decisions at a new duty station. Our building sits just off the Richardson Highway near Eielson, and we minister to Fort Wainwright with a focus on reaching Soldiers and families for Christ and equipping each believer for selfless service.
